When should I enrol, and
what if I enrol late?
Courses are updated after
every set of exams - we expect to have updated courses ready by the middle
of January for the June exams and by the middle of July for the Nov/December
exams. You can enrol for distance learning at any time.
If you do enrol late, we will speed up the mailings to ensure you have all
the course material in good time.
How
do I enrol?
To enrol for one of our
Distance learning courses you can either:
1.Print out the enrolment form for the course you want and send it together
with a cheque to Campbell's College.
2.Send or fax the form to us with a request that we invoice your employer.
3.Email us - Tell us which subjects you want, your name, address & phone
number.
4.Students in the Caribbean can contact our Barbados centre directly.
Don't worry if you have not
yet received your ICSA registration number - you can let us know later!

How many subjects should I study?
The average is two subjects for each exam sitting but some students are
quite happy working through one at at time whilst others attempt three. The
choice is yours! Your starting point will depend on your
qualifications. Contact ICSA
How soon after I enrol will I
receive my first mailing?
Once course updates are
complete, we aim to despatch your first mailing within two working days of
receiving your application. We can send to either your work or home address,
just let us know which you would prefer.
We try to send an email to let you know your material has been posted.
The next three instalments are then mailed out at roughly three week
intervals.
How many mailings will I
receive and how long does each course last?
You will receive a total of
four mailings from us over a twelve week period, one every three weeks.
However, even if you enrol in January, you will still receive your lecturer
support up until the exams in June. If you leave it very late to enrol,
don't worry - we will ensure you receive all mailings in plenty of time for
the exam. Please note, we reserve the right to withhold mailings if
payment has not been received within 30 days of invoicing.
How do I contact my lecturer and how do I submit work for marking?
On enrolment you will be
sent the name, address, phone number and email address of your subject
tutor. We suggest you make contact to talk about the subject and to discuss
convenient contact times. When you have completed a piece of set work,
please send it directly to your lecturer by: Post or Email
or Fax
Essays can also be sent to Campbell's College by any of the above methods
and we will forward it to your lecturer, but this will take longer.
Please try and submit work on a regular basis throughout your course. Marked
work will then be returned to you quickly. If you wait until the last few
weeks before the exam and send in six essays in one go, there could possibly
be a delay. ICSA revision classes take place during this period, so we
cannot guarantee our normal quick response. But it will be marked!
Can I contact other
Campbell's College students?
If you request it on your
enrolment form, you will be included on an email contact
sheet which is sent to students who request it. Tick the box on your
form or email Jane.
Final option for ICSA students is to join us for a revision class in the
month preceding the exams.

I am
worried about doing accounts by distance learning - can you help?
Jim Skinner
our accounting lecturer writes:
I am a firm believer that
you can divide the entire population of the world into two categories,
numbers people and words people. I am also of the opinion that the words
people think that they are no good at accounts.
Many ICSA students are
words people and leave the Accounting subjects to last. They have achieved
passes in subjects such as Law and Administration and then the day arrives
when they have to tackle the dreaded Accounts.
Some students attend day
release or evening classes. Through good teaching and hard work they obtain
passes in Financial Accounting, Management Accounting and Corporate Financial
Management. Others may have attempted these papers before and failed
or find they cannot get on well with taught courses.
For many, a taught course
is not an option due to lack of suitable provision or pressure from work or
family. If this is the situation in your case you have my deepest sympathy -
I have been there myself.
The Campbell's distance
learning course is designed with this in mind. No previous book-keeping
knowledge is required, you can work at your own pace, the material is
written in plain English showing short cuts and "common sense" solutions to
problems. All that is required is a commitment to work as hard as you can
and send in papers for marking.
I have many years
experience of producing material for Campbell's College and I know that hard
work and an organised approach to study (with no bad luck) will eventually
lead to examination success.
What if something goes wrong?
If you have problems let us
know as soon as possible and we will do all we can to put things right.
We aim to call or email you at least once during your course to check that
you are happy with the service we provide.
