When should I enrol? Courses are updated after every set of exams - we expect to have updated courses ready by early January for the June exams and by the middle of July for the Nov/December exams. But, you can enrol at any time - there is no set start date. Students work to their own timetable from the date of enrolment until the exam period. If you enrol early, you can start work using the current material and updated notes (if necessary) will be emailed to you when available.  If you enrol late, we will speed up the mailings to ensure you have all the course material in good time for the exam.

How do I enrol? Either print out the enrolment form and send/fax/email to us or book and pay online  Don't worry if you have not yet received your ICSA registration number - you can let us know later!

How many subjects should I study at a time? Most students tackle one or  two subjects for each exam sitting.

How soon after I enrol will I receive my first mailing? Once course updates are complete, we aim to despatch your first mailing within one working day of receiving your application. We can send to either your work or home address, just let us know which you would prefer. Confirmation is sent to you by email along with details of your tutor and an outline of your course.
The next three instalments are then mailed out at roughly three week intervals.  You can also request copies of the mailings to be emailed to you.

How many mailings will I receive and how long does each course last? You will receive a total of four mailings from us over a twelve week period, one every three weeks. However, even if you enrol in January, you will still receive your lecturer support up until the exams in June. If you leave it very late to enrol, don't worry - we will ensure you receive all mailings in plenty of time for the exam.

I live overseas - is this a problem?  Absolutely not -Campbell's College provides ICSA training to students worldwide. Notes can be emailed, some of our lecturers now use Skype to communicate with their overseas students and our extra online tuition sessions mean overseas students are not isolated.

For the Nov 2011 exams we have students in:
The UK Switzerland Ireland Channel Islands
The Isle of Man Malaysia Dubai Mauritius
Tanzania Ghana Bermuda Trinidad
South Africa Nigeria Singapore Luxembourg
Malawi Cyprus Oman Gibraltar
The Netherlands Uganda Abu Dhabi British Virgin Islands
Uruguay USA St Lucia Jamaica

How do I contact my Tutor and submit my assignments for marking?

On enrolment you will be sent the name, address, phone number and email address of your subject tutor. We suggest you make contact to talk about the subject and to discuss convenient contact times. When you have completed a piece of set work, please send it directly to your lecturer.

Please try and submit work on a regular basis throughout your course. Marked work will then be returned to you quickly. If you wait until the last few weeks before the exam and send in six essays in one go, there could possibly be a delay. ICSA revision classes take place during this period, so we cannot guarantee our normal quick response. But it will be marked!

Can I contact other Campbell's College students?

Currently we have a 'Googlegroups' forum and subject specific groups on LinkedIn. See the contacts page for details.

I am worried about studying accounts by distance learning - can you help?   Jim Skinner our accounting lecturer writes:

I am a firm believer that you can divide the entire population of the world into two categories, numbers people and words people. I am also of the opinion that the words people think that they are no good at accounts. Many ICSA students are words people and leave the Accounting subjects to last. They have achieved passes in subjects such as Law and Governance and then the day arrives when they have to tackle the dreaded Accounts.

Some students attend day release or evening classes. Through good teaching and hard work they obtain passes but others may have attempted these papers before and failed or find they cannot get on well with taught courses. For many, a taught course is not an option due to lack of suitable provision or pressure from work or family. If this is the situation in your case you have my deepest sympathy - I have been there myself.

The Campbell's training course is designed with this in mind. No previous book-keeping knowledge is required, you can work at your own pace, the material is written in plain English showing short cuts and "common sense" solutions to problems. All that is required is a commitment to work as hard as you can and send in papers for marking. I have many years experience of producing material for Campbell's College and I know that hard work and an organised approach to study (with no bad luck) will eventually lead to examination success.  Jim
