The following information is from the ICSA website  on 27.2.08 and is provided to give you some idea of where your starting point will be in the ICSA International Qualifying scheme (IQS). You should however check with the Institute to ensure you have the most up to date information.


Entry point and Exemptions

Your entry point to the ICSA International Qualifying Scheme will depend upon your previous qualifications. CERTIFICATE, DIPLOMA, PROFESSIONAL ONE, PROFESSIONAL TWO


1. Certificate in Business Practice - open entry. No qualifications required.


2. Diploma in Business Practice  will be your entry point if you hold one of the following:

ICSA Awards:

Certificate in Company Secretarial Practice & Share Registration Practice
Certificate in Employee Share Plans
Certificate in Offshore Finance and Administration
Certificate in Business Practice

Academic & Vocational Awards

Certificate of Higher Education (related)
Foundation Degrees (non-related)
Higher National Certificate (related)
Higher National Diploma (non-related)
NVQ Level 5 (new) in Administration + Democratic Services (pre-2004 Level 4)

Professional Qualifications

ACCA Certified Accounting Technician (CAT)
ACCA Diploma in Corporate Governance
ACCA Diploma in Financial Management
CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting
CIPFA Certificate Stage
ICAEW Professional Accounting Certificate
CIPD Certificate in Business Awareness
CII Diploma in Insurance
ICA Diploma in Anti Money Laundering
ICSA Diploma in Compliance
AAT Technician Stage
ILEX Higher Diploma in Law
STEP Diploma
IAM Diploma
IBAM Diploma


3. Professional Programme Part I  will be your entry point if you hold one of the following:

ICSA Awards

Diploma in Company Secretarial Practice & Share Registration Practice
Diploma in Offshore Finance & Administration
Diploma in Business Practice

Academic and Vocational awards

Diploma in Higher Education (related)
Foundation Degrees (related)
Higher National Diploma (related)
Undergraduate Degree/Masters (non-related) - Exempt from the Strategic Operations Management and Management Accounting modules from Professional Programme Part I.
 

Professional Qualifications

CIPD Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development
CII Chartered Insurance Institute
CIM Chartered Institute of Marketing
CIPS Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting
CIPFA Diploma Stage
IAM Advanced Diploma
IBAM Advanced Diploma


4. Professional Programme Part II will be your entry point if you hold one of the following:

ICSA Awards

Professional Programme Part I

Academic and Vocational Awards

Related Degree/Masters from a recognised university


Professional Qualifications

Law Society

Notice
Candidates who register with the Institute from 1 September 2007 and are fully qualified members of:

ACCA Chartered Institute of Certified Accountants
CIMA Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
CIPFA Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountants
ICAEW Institute of Chartered Accountants England & Wales
ICAI Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland
ICAS Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland

will be required to take the following four ICSA modules in order to complete the examination requirements of the International Qualifying Scheme:

Corporate Secretaryship
Corporate Administration
Corporate Governance
Corporate Law (instead of Corporate Financial Management)

Candidates who registered before 1 September 2007 will continue as before.

In order for the Institute to ensure you enter at the correct entry point, you must provide authenticated photocopies of any educational certificates upon which your claim is based. Please note that exemptions are a concession granted by ICSA and not an automatic right. ICSA does not award exemptions for work experience.
