CSQS is an up-dated professional scheme, taking into account changes in the
markets and contexts in which the profession operates. It provides a broad
skills base in law, finance and strategy, with a focus on governance,
corporate law and compliance.
To achieve the full
qualification you will need to successfully complete the eight modules
listed below:
Assessment and Study:
Exams are in June & November at centres
around the UK and overseas. All CSQS exams are 3 hour closed book
exams.
ICSA suggest you commit about
150 hours of study
to each module but obviously this will vary depending on your prior
knowledge of a subject.
All other subjects must be passed or exempt before the final Case Study
module can be attempted.
Entry Level and
Exemptions:
You should check with ICSA but basically if you have no degree or a non-related degree you need to take all 8 modules. If you have a law degree you
will be exempt from the two law modules. Professional qualifications
will give you further exemptions. See the
ICSA exemptions
policy (pdf) for details. There is also a Fast
Track option for qualified CCAB professionals and lawyers with over five
years experience.
ICSA say the following
' We
strongly recommend that if you do not have any degree level qualifications
or relevant work experience you should undertake some form of preliminary
study before registering for CSQS'
